Katriina Nuutinen (b. 1983) is one of the leading Finnish designers of her generation, specializing in glass and lightings. Since graduating from the School of Arts and Design at Aalto University in Helsinki in 2011 she has worked with materials such as mirror, wood, metal and cork work that has resulted in successful collaborations with producers such as Ligne Roset and Klong.

GLASS & LIGHTINGS
The delicate Hely jewel lamp is a perfect example of her know-how of various materials and her creative flair. Nuutinen’s harmonic work mainly consists of lights, interior accessories and tableware. Her designs reflect her fascination towards the field of work, the materials, the process of creating and those who create.
Nuutinen has won several international awards, among them the latest Talents a la Carte award by Maison&Objet fair 2016 and Interior Innovation Award 2015 Winner awarded to the Candeo bright light lamp produced by Finnish Innolux. In 2011 she was awarded the Finnish talent of the year in Muoto2011 gala in Helsinki. In 2014, her Oma floor lamp was selected for Home- ware Top 25 by Monocle magazine. In 2017 the Perho mirror was selected one of the twelve best products from Finland in 2017. More recently, she was awarded a three-year grant by the The Finnish Cultural Foundation.

Thinkers & Makers is a new company manufacturing ecological and PETA-approved, modern cork products that appeal to the conscious consumer. Our collection includes bags, accessories and essentials for the home office.
We want to offer stylish and durable products to the modern, conscious consumer. Our products can be acquired with good conscience: Sustainability, environmental and social responsibility guide each step of our production process and business activities. Our products are designed in Finland and made in Portugal using only FCS-certified cork.
 

For Thinkers & Makers using cork is an environmental statement. By choosing cork, we support the traditional livelihood of the Mediterranean cork forest farmers, biodiversity and the EU's climate actions. We offer sustainable, ecological, and above all beautiful products that differ from the mainstream. We minimize the use of non-renewable materials, our products are mainly organic and completely vegan. We want to inspire people to make choices that build a sustainable society in harmony with nature. Our goal is to be a pioneer in material knowledge and we have committed to United Nation’s program The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
